Heavy twill of 100% pure new wool

With a weight of 665 gr/m2, this thick and firm grey twill of 100% new wool is the heaviest fabric in our wool collection. It can be used for overcoats and is also perfect for curtains or room dividers because of its noise absorbing capacities and the natural flame retardant capacity of wool. The fabric can be processed 'raw edged'.

This article is made from merino wool from South American or New Zealand origin and is mulesing-free. The wool was processed in Europe (spinning, weaving, dyeing). It was dyed conform OEKO Tex guidelines and has a good light fastness. After weaving the fabric was fulled which makes it more compact and increases its water and dirt-resistant properties.

SUSTAINABLE WOOL

Wool is the most used animal fibre. It is a natural proteine that has much in common with human hair and was already used for textiles in the 5th millennium BC. Wool is renewable, water repellent, flame resistant, odour resistant, breathing, easy to wear and easy to maintain. In many ways wool is a very sustainable fibre. Not only it is 100% biodegradable but because of its high elasticity it doesn’t need to be ironed or only on low temperatures. In addition wool is a fibre that regenerates itself by airing and doesn’t have to be washed very often. For this fabric the advice is to not wash it at all.
