Boiled organic wool fabric in melange colours 500 gr

A boiled wool fabric made from organic wool, GOTS-certified and with a weight of 500 gr/m². This fabric is made in melange colours (fibre dyed). It can be processed as 'raw edge', meaning that is doesn't curl and is easy to sew. It is mainly used for cardigans, coats, plaids etc. The difference with most other felted woolen fabrics is that this is not woven but knitted. It was made from an organic wool interlock that was then boiled (and thus felted).

These fabrics are only made on order and can be produced in a range of six melange colours. A digital colour card can be downloaded here. Minimum order quantity per colour is 50 meter, average lead time is 8-12 weeks. Please check before ordering. We can inform you about this by e-mail.

What is boiled wool?

Boiled wool fabric or wool fleece is a knitted wool fabric that undergoes a special felting process, giving the fabric its unique properties. Boiled wool fabrics provide excellent insulating properties, they are water repellent, antibacterial, elastic, and highly breathable. The boiled wool fabrics in our collection are all made from 100 percent wool and can really be considered as truly circular textiles: they don't shed micro-plastics and wool is biodegradable.
