Washed canvas from organic cotton and linen in natural colour

Strong fabric from organic cotton and linen for cushions, curtains, furniture upholstery etc.
This strong and firm fabric was woven in a Panamaweave (also: basketweave) from a warp of 100% organic cotton and a weft of 100% conventional linen. This is the washed quality, see below for the raw fabric.

With a weight of 340 gr/m2 this fabric is fit for curtains or other interior applications. It has the natural colour, and is undyed and unbleached.

Origin of the material
The linen in this fabric was grown in Belgium and France, the organic cotton in Turkey (Aegean organic cotton). The fabric is woven exclusively for Ecological Textiles in Germany.

Ecology
Linen is considered to be one of the most sustainable textiles known. The flax plant doesn't require irrigation during growth and even when it is grown conventionally it needs little or no treatment with herbicides or pesticides. Linen is a natural product, 100% biodegradable and recyclable.
The organic cotton warp is made from yarns from Aegean organic cotton, one of the best qualities known. It was grown organically and spun in a GOTS-certified factory.
